School Ambassadors
Our Year 6 pupils can apply to become Subject Ambassadors - it's a great role with lots of responsibility.
We have Ambassadors for the following subjects - English, Maths, Science, Geography/History, Computing, Art, Design Technology and Music.
The role description is:
- To support and work with their school subject lead
- Be a champion for their subject within our whole curriculum
- To be able to talk about their subject in school positively and knowledgeably
- To take part in regular monitoring to know the strengths of their subject and areas to improve
- To listen to other views about their subject and give feedback (children/staff/SLT/Governors)
- To find ways to make improvements in their subject to make it even better
All the ambassadors have been busy meeting the relevant staff members in school and establishing themselves throughout school.
The Computing Ambassadors... at work!
So far, the Computing Ambassadors have led assemblies on E-safety, including some assemblies delivering the Web-Safe message. They read 'Look Up' by Nathan Byron in assembly, and discussed the message encouraging children to put their phones and other technology down and do something else... like look at the stars, for Safer Internet Day.
They keep a check on equipment to make sure it's locked when not in use, and have completed pupil voice too!
They are now working on producing their first Computing Newsletter!

The English Ambassadors at Work!
The English Ambassadors have been busy too, planning and leading several assemblies, which they take very seriously, mainly reading some of the books by Rachel Bright and then questioning children about the message within. So far, we've enjoyed Kevin the Koala, The Pandas Who Promised, The Lion Inside.
Every two weeks, they select books on a theme (that they have chosen) from the library area, and deliver the books to classrooms to enhance the range in each class. So far, they've mainly chosen non-fiction books. The highlight of their role so far has been helping to choose books from the book fair, for the take-home reader books... they certainly loved having 'the power' to spend money!
Together with the other ambassadors, they too, have completed pupil voice and have photographed displays around school, to help monitor what the classes have been learning. They truly are an incredibly proactive ambassador group!

The Art Ambassadors...
They, too, have been incredibly busy. The highlight of the year so far was being invited to the Year 2 Art Exhibition. They thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the work and talking to the Year 2 pupils about how the work was created.
Like the other ambassadors, they have completed pupil voice activities, and checked out the displays around school.
